It's our birthday! On this special episode marking one year since the first episode of #PoliticsInThePulpit, Raj speaks to Revd Beth Allison-Glenny, creator and first host of the podcast.
Beth is the new Chaplain, Head of Welfare and Fellow in Theology at Regent’s Park College, Oxford. She is an ordained Baptist minister and a practical theologian, and previously worked as the Public Issues Enabler for Baptists Together as part of the JPIT team.

After serving the World Council of Churches as Programmed Executive for Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation for the last 9 years, Peniel recently joined the Anglican Mission agency United Society Partners in the Gospel (USPG) as Global Theologian. When he is not engaged in theology or reading detective novels, you will find him playing badminton or going on walks with his wife Rebecca and their two sons Ebenezer and Cleon.

This week on #PoliticsInThePulpit, Raj speaks with Victoria Turner.
Victoria is a PhD Candidate in World Christianity at the University of Edinburgh. Her studies explore changing theologies and practices of mission from the middle of the 20th Century. She is a member of the United Reformed Church and is a Trustee of Churches Together in England, alongside working with the Council for World Mission, Tearfund and the World Communion of Reformed Churches. Her edited book, 'Young, Woke and Christian: Words from a Missing Generation' is being released with SCM Press in February 2022.

Peter is the Canon for Outreach and Discipleship at Newcastle Cathedral. Part of Peter’s role is to hold responsibility for how the Cathedral, in the heart of the City, continues to be a place of radical welcome for all people and a place of empowerment for all who come into contact with the Cathedral’s life.

We're back! In his first episode as host, Raj Patta chats to Revd Michaela Youngson.
Michaela is Assistant Secretary of the Methodist Conference and Connexional Ecumenical Officer for the Methodist Church. Her previous roles in the church include circuit ministry in Lancashire, and Ealing, as well as serving in the Connexional Team as Secretary for Spirituality and Pastoral Care. She is the author of two books, Making the Colours Sing (2005) and The Weaver, the Word and Wisdom: worshipping the triune God (2007). Michaela can often be heard on BBC Radio 2, when she offers a Pause for Thought on the Early Breakfast Show, or on BBC Radio 4, leading the Daily Service.

In the final episode of this series of #PoliticsInThePulpit, David hands over to our new host, Revd Raj Patta.
Raj Bharat Patta currently serves as a minister of the Methodist Church in the UK at the United Stockport Circuit. He completed his PhD with a thesis on “Towards a Subaltern Public Theology for India” at the University of Manchester, UK. Prior to this, he served the Student Christian Movement of India (SCMI) as its national general secretary and the National Council of Churches in India (NCCI) as one of its executive secretaries for the Commission on Dalits and Adivasis. He also worked as an Honorary Chaplain at St. Peter’s Church and Chaplaincy ministering the higher education University communities in Manchester.
